Summary

The job is for a Software Engineer in the Parachains Core team at Parity, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining protocols that are foundational to the security, scalability, and adoption of Polkadot. The position requires 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, hands-on experience with implementing and maintaining distributed systems, performance engineering, and optimizations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
  • Hands on experience with implementing and maintaining distributed systems
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain protocols that are foundational to the security, scalability, and adoption of Polkadot
  • Debug and root cause complex issues in distributed systems (scalability, performance regressions and generally bugs that only surface at scale)
  • Build test suites that ensure the functionality and performance of multiple components working together in a β€˜microservice like’ architecture
  • Contribute to the performance and stability of the Polkadot node
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new protocols like Offchain XCMP and Approval Voting Rewards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Collaborate with others in an open-source culture, open to feedback with a critical mindset
  • Ability to solve complex problems over longer periods of time
  • Ownership and accountability for your work in the long term
