Summary
Join Rialtic's Engines team as a Senior Software Engineer and contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of Python packages implementing healthcare policies. You will work with a modern, cloud-first stack, building and maintaining containerized applications. Collaborate with other teams, refine user stories, and participate in architecture reviews. This role requires 3-5 years of software engineering experience, proficiency in Python, and experience with various tools and technologies. Requirements
- 3-5 years hands-on experience as a software engineer in a professional environment
- 2+ years of experience working in Python and on Python applications, including Python dependency management, packaging and publishing tools
- Extensive and long-term (1+ years) involvement in at least two software projects
- Experience with shell scripting, Git and continuous integration workflows/pipelines
- Experience with SQL or similar query tools/languages
- Experience in a professional environment with at least one compiled language (C, C++, C#, Golang, Rust, etc.)
- Experience building and debugging data-rich applications
- Experience with AWS, S3 and Athena
- Strong listening and interpersonal skills. You consider yourself a lifelong learner and you are willing to read documentation, ask questions, explore and iterate to improve
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and maintain Python packages that implement healthcare policies and concepts
- Serve as a peer reviewer for a colleagueβs code and approve merge requests
- Participate in architecture specification review including writing and reviewing design documentation
- Work with Principal and Staff Engineers on improvements to existing code and implementation of new designs, architectures and tools for process and coding improvements
- Work with the product management team to refine and break down user stories into concrete tasks for implementation
- Partner with other teams (including Content, Cloud and Core Claims) in defining and developing new functionality, as well as maintaining and improving the performance of existing code
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or graduate degree in a related technical field such as CS, Math, Physics or Engineering
- Experience with modern data engineering and data science tools such as Pandas, Jupyter notebooks, Airflow, etc
- GitLab CI, Kubernetes, Docker
- Familiarity or experience with modern BI and reporting tools
- Experience in healthcare IT
- Experience in a start-up environment
- Demonstrated success in a remote work environment
