Software Engineer

Summary

Join Taskrabbit's Dolly Moving team as a Software Engineer specializing in TypeScript and JavaScript web applications. You will be responsible for developing new features, managing projects, and contributing to the transition from a monolithic JavaScript application to TypeScript services. This remote-first role requires 2+ years of experience in software engineering and modern web applications using JavaScript and TypeScript. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in REST APIs and backend development best practices. Requirements

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 2+ years of professional experience with modern web applications in both JavaScript and TypeScript
• Experience with REST APIs and backend development best practices

Responsibilities

• Iteratively build out new features across all systems
• Deliver projects, including scoping, planning, breaking down into discrete tasks, execution with the team, successful release, and long-term monitoring
• Move from a monolithic JavaScript web application to TypeScript services while advancing business interests
• Understand how your code fits into the broader technical context
• Be a thought partner for the product team in the feasibility of requested features, clarifying requirements where necessary
