Remote Software Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Software Engineer (L2) at Twilio's Email Platform Accounts team. The role involves developing software, maintaining infrastructure, working with a small team, performing code reviews, supporting production operations, and crafting clear documentation. The ideal candidate should have 3+ years of software development experience in a modern programming language like Go, Python, Scala, Java, or C++, recent experience designing and building RESTful API’s, excellent communication skills, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software development experience with highly-available applications in a modern programming language. Go (preferred), Python, Scala, Java, or C++
• Experience building and maintaining reliable, robust, and performant software that is scalable, testable and supportable
• Recent experience designing and building RESTful API’s
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software and software infrastructure, contributing to the overall success of our business objectives
• Work with a small and collaborative team, whiteboarding ideas, building full stack products, APIs and services
• Perform thorough and thoughtful code reviews to help maintain a high standard of code quality
• Support production operations, building, releasing and assisting with team on-call
• Craft clear and concise documentation

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Kafka, MySQL, DynamoDB
• Experience developing products on AWS
• Experience in configuration management and deployment systems
