Software Engineer

Summary

Join Vanta as a senior AI platform engineer to shape the company's AI offerings, improve AI systems, and set technical strategy for end-to-end ML/AI architecture. As a key member of the core AI team, you'll work alongside product engineers, PMs, and security experts to implement, scale, and maintain ML pipelines.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of industry experience as a software engineer
• You have experience building ML systems from ground up, shipping ML solutions to production, and owning the full ML development lifecycle
• Have experience with improving developer experience & resolving ML infrastructure challenges related to scale, reliability, and performance
• Experience working at rapidly scaling startups and large companies, especially with environments that prioritize a bias for action
• Strong coding and software engineering skills
• You are a culture carrier and take initiatives to work closely with product engineers and meet them where they are

Responsibilities

• Work closely with our users, primarily other engineers at Vanta, to understand their pain points in AI development and identify opportunities for improvements
• Design, build, and improve AI infrastructure and tooling, such as offline and online evaluation and data pipeline for model training
• Design, build, and improve unified AI services such as search
• Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation
• Set an example for effective, collaborative engineering culture, and help mentor junior team members
