Software Engineer

Summary

Join Whatnot, the largest livestream shopping platform, as a Senior Software Engineer on the Seller Growth Engineering team! You will focus on improving the seller experience, from onboarding and marketing to lifecycle management and churn reduction. This role requires 5+ years of experience in a high-growth startup environment, proficiency in building scalable systems (Python, Elixir, JavaScript), and a strong understanding of user needs. You'll be working with data and growth systems, leveraging SQL and dbt. Requirements

• 5+ years of full-time, generalist software engineering experience in high growth startups
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience
• Experience building scalable systems (we primarily use Python, Elixir, JavaScript)
• Ability to work across the stack (backend and frontend)
• Excellent product instincts. You first think about users rather than the best technical solution
• Proven track record of delivering features. You are known for shipping products and features lightning-fast
• Ability to take ownership of an ambiguous area and define and then drive impact
• Ability to flexibly work across multiple workstreams, thriving in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of Data and Growth Systems like Notifications
• Scalability and Data pipeline experience with SQL, dbt, etc

Responsibilities

• Define different seller cuts and measure the seller lifecycle
• Make sellers successful throughout their lifecycle
• Focus on seller onboarding
• Develop seller marketing and growth capabilities and tooling
• Resurrect churned sellers
