Software Engineer

Summary

Join xneelo, a business enabler offering hosting services, and become a Backend Software Engineer. You will solve large-scale backend technical challenges, contribute to process improvement, and innovate to optimize systems. Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to understand customer needs and deliver robust solutions. Support customers operationally when escalated by the Client Services team. Requirements

• Have a passion for Design & development of backend software and APIs
• Have a passion for Object-oriented programming using a language like Ruby
• Have a passion for Software development within the Linux/Unix environment
• Have a passion for Software development using a containerization platform like Docker or Kubernetes
• Have a passion for Agile development practices (team focus, continual improvement, automated tests, refactoring, continuous integration, pair programming)
• Have a passion for Effective communication
• Have a passion for Self-motivation and self-management
• Have a passion for Life-Long Learning
• A minimum of 4+ years of software development experience
• Minimum of 2 years supporting a large scale application in an operational capacity

Responsibilities

• Solve interesting and large scale backend technical challenges
• Be part of figuring out how we get better at what we do
• Look for opportunities to innovate and optimize
• Understand the needs of the customer in order to deliver innovative, robust solutions (In collaboration with the Product Owner and stakeholders of course)
• Support the customer from an operational perspective when escalated by the Client Services team

Preferred Qualifications

• Thinking like a hacker and diving into the security details of the software you’ve built
• Experience with Rancher, Docker Swarm or other container orchestration platforms
• Understanding of database design and performance tuning (MySQL, Redis, etc.)
• Experience with DevOps on a linux based platform
• Experience with system administration on a linux based platform
