Software Engineer - Framework

Summary

Join Snapsheet's Framework team as a Software Engineer and contribute to building foundational solutions for our industry-leading insurance platform. This remote, full-time position involves expanding platform offerings, improving our tech stack, and collaborating with other engineering teams. You will design and build APIs, work with relational databases, and develop web applications across multiple devices. We are looking for candidates with full-stack web development experience and a strong understanding of system design and algorithms. Prior experience with Ruby on Rails and React is a plus.

Requirements

• Possess a BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field
• Have 6+ months of full-stack web development experience, including internships and co-op programs
• Understand system design, data structures, and algorithms
• Understand scalability challenges and performance of server-side code
• Know design patterns used for developing frontend applications
• Have experience in designing and building APIs
• Have experience in designing schemas and performant queries for relational databases
• Have experience in building applications using React and Redux or a similar frontend framework
• Have experience in developing web applications that work across multiple devices and screen sizes
• Understand the web technology stack (HTTP, cookies, asset loading/caching, etc) and modern web technologies (ES6, HTML5, Progressive Web Apps, etc)

Responsibilities

• Expand the platform’s offerings for providers
• Continuously improve our tech stack, processes, and infrastructure
• Partner with other engineering teams to enhance configurability within our platform
• Collaborate with other engineers, product management and design to identify and solve complex problems
• Contribute to technical design processes and provide improvement suggestions and feedback
• Play an influential role in growing Snapsheet to be the industry leader in technology
• Work in an agile environment and participate in weekly stand ups, retrospectives, etc
• Proactively re-evaluate system performance, flag issues, and suggest alternatives

Have prior experience using Ruby on Rails and React
