Software Engineer II

Summary

Join Smartsheet's engineering team and build scalable front and back-end services for next-generation applications using React, Typescript, and Java. You will solve challenging distributed systems problems, participate in code reviews, and mentor junior engineers. This role requires 2+ years of software development experience with full-stack technologies and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure). Requirements

• 2+ years software development experience building highly scalable, highly available applications
• 2+ years of programming experience with full stack technologies such Java, React, or TypeScript
• 2+ years of experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.)
• Experience developing, documenting, and supporting REST APIs
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis

Responsibilities

• Build scalable front and back-end services for the next generation of applications at Smartsheet (React, Typescript, Java)
• Solve challenging distributed systems problems and work with modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes)
• Take part in code reviews and architectural discussions as you work with other software engineers and product managers
• Mentor junior engineers on code quality and other industry best practices
• Forge a strong partnership with product management and other key areas of the business
