Software Engineer II

Summary

Join Stavvy, a company transforming remote business transactions, as a Software Engineer II to develop core backend capabilities and work on a feature for mortgage forbearance. This role involves writing well-tested code in Java, collaborating with teams, testing and debugging, and participating in agile ceremonies.

Requirements

• Creative, skilled, and self-driven Software Engineer with 3+ years of back-end engineering experience with Java
• Have an understanding of modern web infrastructure and architecture patterns
• Experience building services in a cloud platform (AWS preferred)
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL or some other SQL Database
• Experience with DataDog and a strong interest in observability is a plus
• Capable of writing complex backend code for a publicly accessible web application that can scale with the expected business growth
• Experience in the SaaS space and startup environment is preferred

Responsibilities

• Write well-tested, scalable, production-ready code in Java
• Develop back-end systems with Java APIs, keeping usability and experience in mind
• Collaborate with our QA and development teams in order to fully create and understand the requirements for what is necessary to be produced; but this team is largely independent
• Test and debug the code to ensure correctness and completeness
• Improve functionality and stability of existing systems
• Fully participate in agile team ceremonies, including refinement, sprint planning, and standup
• Work on special projects or other duties as designated by your manager
