Summary

Join Rula's Provider Quality team as a Software Engineer II and enhance the therapist and psychiatrist experience within our care network. You will contribute to designing and building robust full-stack solutions for our provider portal, collaborating with Engineering, Product, and Design teams. This role requires building scalable, secure, and performant systems, ensuring efficient care delivery. You will participate in all phases of the development lifecycle, from planning to post-launch maintenance. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Experience building scalable, reliable, and performant systems
  • Proficiency in driving all phases of the development lifecycle: planning, execution, post-launch maintenance
  • Intermediate understanding of modern application architecture, API design patterns, data modeling, security, and performance
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with peers and partners

Responsibilities

  • Develop robust full-stack solutions for Rula's provider portal
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design teams
  • Build scalable, secure, and performant systems to ensure efficient care delivery
  • Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle (planning, execution, post-launch maintenance)
  • Maintain and improve existing systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at growth-stage companies, particularly with migrating legacy systems to microservices
  • Demonstrable experience building β€œsource of truth” systems and integrating with third-party services via events and workflows
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Kafka, and AWS
  • Experience working in HIPAA-compliant or regulated environments (e.g., FHIR, HL7, SOC2, HITRUST)
  • Previous experience in the healthcare or mental health industry
