Requirements

  • Hold a BS/MS/MEng in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar technology-related degree
  • Have at least 10 years of experience as a software engineer or in a closely related position
  • Demonstrate strong work proficiency in Python, particularly in developing Natural Language Processing (NLP) models
  • Demonstrate work experience with Natural Language Processing tools (NLP)
  • Demonstrate work experience with data modeling dashboard development and creation, including the creation of a data warehouse
  • Demonstrate work experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Microsoft Azure required, Terraform preferred
  • Demonstrate work experience with API coding
  • Have the ability to acquire Public Trust Security Clearance
  • Have a minimum of one year of recent experience in healthcare or experience with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)
  • Demonstrate work experience with R Programming Language or Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), R and Dax preferred
  • Demonstrate work experience with GitHub
  • Be expert in web-development including front-end (browser) and back-end (server) including UI components, client-server integrations, APIs, and data persistence
  • Have the ability to discuss abstract software development concepts like single-responsibility, cohesion, data immutability, and other paradigm appropriate design patterns
  • Demonstrate interest in and ability to learn new systems and technology quickly
  • Be proficient with the industry-leading framework(s) for the programming language expertise (Express.js, Gatsby.js, Django, Flasks, Rails, Spring.io, etc)
  • Be proficient with important libraries and technologies in the ecosystem of programming language expertise
  • Be proficient with HTML, Javascript and ability to quickly translate designs into CSS implementations
  • Be proficient with at least one front-end technology like React, Angular, Vue, Ember, Backbone, Svelte
  • Be proficient with building applications in containerized development environments
  • Be expert in with advanced git commands like rebasing, squashing, and cherry-picking
  • Have the ability to assist other engineers with source code management in git
  • Have the ability to discuss technical tasks and team process topics with team members
  • Have a basic understanding of container orchestration technologies like Amazon ECS and Kubernetes
  • Have a basic understanding of โ€œserverlessโ€ concepts and frameworks like Serverless.com and AWS Lambda
  • Have a basic understanding of cloud platforms like AWS
  • Have a basic understanding of software infrastructure including network, compute, and data storage resources
  • Have a basic understanding of securing systems on the application, network, and infrastructure layers
  • Have the ability to operate and manage work, strategically reason, and build relationships and influence others

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize business requirements and objectives and drive the development of solutions
  • Collaborate with talented designers, product managers, and fellow engineers to plan and build new features
  • Coach and mentor others to develop their professional skills
  • Drive all phases of the development lifecycle from task creation to production deployment of new code
  • Design and implement effective, secure software solutions that meet the business and technology requirements of the project
  • Articulate business needs and translate them into technology solutions
  • Create technical processes that create testable and maintainable software with minimal technical debt
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in application and infrastructure code
  • Develop and implement plans for the continuous improvement and evolution of the software system
  • Identify opportunities and articulate suggestions to improve the technology strategies beyond the scope of a team or project
  • Review other developersโ€™ code and provide specific, constructive feedback
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of products/workflows within the businesses they support

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have experience working with government or large industry clients
  • Be expert in at least one programming language like Node.js, Go, Java 8+, Ruby, etc
  • Have experience with United States Department of Health and Human Services agencies
  • Have experience with PowerBI and/or Tableau
  • Have experience with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams
  • Hold a current AWS Certified Developer Associate, Solutions Architecture Associate, or Solutions Architect Professional or similar certification in another cloud platform
  • Hold a current Certified Scrum Master certification
  • Hold a current CompTIA Security+ certification
