Software Engineer III

Summary

Join HackerOne's growing engineering team as a Software Engineer IC3 and contribute to building a safer internet. You will collaborate with senior engineers, product managers, designers, and customer success managers to develop and improve features for our platform. This role requires 5+ years of full-stack software engineering experience, particularly within a SaaS environment, and proficiency in Ruby on Rails or Python. You will be responsible for guiding junior engineers and making systematic improvements to codebases. The position offers remote work flexibility based in the UK or Poland and the opportunity to work on impactful projects within a supportive and inclusive team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering, especially within a SAAS environment
• Experience developing applications with Ruby on Rails or Python
• Proven positive impact in your past professional experience
• Be based remotely in UK, or Poland
• Able to work and excel in a remote environment

Responsibilities

• Work with seniors of the team, Product Managers and Designers and build delightful features and products for our community, as well as the thousands of companies who trust HackerOne with their cybersecurity posture
• Interact with CSM’s, who are the voice of our customers
• Guide and coach the more junior IC’s
• Identify and make systematic improvements to technical weaknesses you’ll find in your squad’s codebases, and in shared codebases across the company
• Commit code to repositories and develop a knack for being a fast and effective software engineer on our codebase
• Lead projects as Software Engineer
• Develop a good sense of cross-functional collaboration and communication
• Understand the business value of our products and features, and the needs of our customers
• Translate feature requests into simple, but robust engineering (or non-engineering) solutions
• Make an impact on a squad and project level
• Coordinate efforts around new initiatives with the senior engineers
