Summary

Join Modernizing Medicine (ModMed) as a Technical Leader in Hyderabad, India! Lead and mentor a team of engineers, focusing on the development and maintenance of our patient engagement software. Collaborate with engineering teams across Europe and the US Product & Customer Success teams. You will be responsible for planning, analyzing, and developing software, contributing to technical specifications, and ensuring high technical standards. This role requires extensive experience with Ruby, Ruby frameworks, relational and non-relational databases, and message brokers. Requirements

  • 8+ years of Professional working experience with Ruby and Ruby Frameworks (i.e. Rails, Grape, Sinatra). A good understanding of GraphQL best practices is a plus
  • Test-driven development (TDD) mindset, leveraging modern frameworks (i.e. Rspec)
  • Professional working experience with relational databases (Postgresql, mySQL) and non-relational databases
  • Professional working experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ
  • Drive to learn, take on new challenges, and follow through on initiatives to make your ideas become a reality by taking ownership of your work
  • Strong collaboration with all parts of a multidisciplinary team, including Engineering, Design, and Product, with a focus on delivering the best solution to customers
  • Comfortable writing and maintaining detailed documentation to share knowledge and provide a clear understanding of how things work
  • Proven successes in mentoring engineers to improve standards and reduce defects in dynamic environments
  • Excellent communication and proven ability to influence decisions

Responsibilities

  • Be a technical leader within the team you work with
  • Lead your teammates by example, as a senior member of the team you will let your code and system designs demonstrate the path the teams should follow
  • Support other engineers' technical growth by mentoring, pairing, and developing other educational opportunities while nurturing a collaborative environment within and across teams
  • Collaborate with the Product team to find out the best solutions to address our customersโ€™ needs, weighing on technical complexity vs delivered value
  • Contribute to and uphold the teamโ€™s procedures to maximize collaboration and efficiency by participating in constructive discussions, planning, and decision-making
  • Work on dismantling complex proposals into bite-size deliverables, providing detailed Technical Specifications, and assisting in defining Acceptance Criteria
  • Implement new features as well as maintain and expand existing ones, accompanied by its corresponding Unit and Integration Tests
  • Support our continuous refactoring efforts ensuring our codebase upholds the highest technical standards
