Software Engineer, Mapping

Summary

Join Waymo's Mapping team and build backend infrastructure for storing and processing map data. Design systems to dynamically respond to signals from Waymo's fleet, apply automated techniques to generate maps from raw data, and improve internal tools for map viewing and editing. Scale systems to support global mapping efforts. Collaborate with other Waymo teams that utilize map data. This role requires experience in server-side infrastructure and data processing, solid coding skills, and the ability to solve complex technical problems. A 3-5 year experience is required. Bonus points for a Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field, C++ coding experience, and experience with mapping and localization.

Preferred Qualifications

• M.S. or Ph.D in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• C++ Coding experience
• Experience with Mapping and Localization
