Software Engineer, Mid

Summary

Join Settle's Inventory & Procurement team as a Software Engineer and develop inventory management software for small businesses. You will design and build customer-facing features, collaborate with product and design teams, and continuously improve engineering processes. This role requires 3+ years of software engineering experience, proficiency in backend development, and experience with various technologies. Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally within a customer-facing role or product-driven environment
• Proficiency in backend development with experience in building and maintaining APIs
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails (or willingness to learn), with strong foundations in OOP and familiarity with ORM frameworks
• Experience in relational databases such as Postgres and MySQL
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Ability to collaborate with product managers, designers and frontend engineers to define and deliver quality features
• Ability to accurately estimate tasks and stick to deadlines

Responsibilities

• Design and build customer-facing features for inventory management that help small businesses manage cash flow and scale operations
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to ensure features and systems are intuitive, user-friendly, and aligned with customer needs
• Continuously improve engineering processes and coding best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in GraphQL is a plus
• Some front-end exposure a plus
