Summary

Join Settle's Inventory team as a Software Engineer and develop inventory management software for brands, designing and building high-impact systems, products, and features. With strong product-market fit, organic growth, and a robust long-term roadmap, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team driving Settle's ongoing success.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally within a customer-facing role or product-driven environment
  • Strong understanding of product engineering with a focus on how your work impacts the end user
  • Technical expertise in designing scalable systems, building APIs, and developing infrastructure to meet growing customer demand
  • Proficiency in Ruby on Rails (or willingness to learn), with strong foundations in OOP and familiarity with ORM frameworks such as Django or Hibernate
  • A customer-first mentality, with a deep curiosity and focus on understanding customer needs and delivering high-quality features
  • Experience in building microservices that support scalability, maintainability, and resilience
  • The ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment, solving new problems and developing impactful solutions
  • Leadership and mentorship skills, with a desire to help others grow while contributing to a collaborative team culture

Responsibilities

  • Design and build customer-facing features for inventory management that directly impact small business owners’ ability to manage cash flow and scale operations
  • Collaborate with Product and Design teams to ensure features and systems are intuitive, user-friendly, and aligned with customer needs
  • Optimize systems for scale, reliability, and usability, ensuring the platform supports increasing user demands while maintaining an exceptional user experience
  • Deeply understand the product from a customer’s perspective to develop systems that are seamless and offer self-serve capabilities
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering a collaborative culture that prioritizes learning, growth, and continuous improvement
  • Drive projects to completion, effectively communicating progress and technical challenges to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike
