Software Engineering Intern

Summary

Join Hack The Box as a Software Engineering Intern and contribute to the development of their CTF platform. This 6-month contract role (with potential for full-time conversion) offers two tracks: Frontend (Vue.js) and Backend (Laravel/PHP). Interns will gain hands-on experience building production-level features, collaborating with experienced engineers, and working on a high-visibility product used by thousands. The internship is ideal for final-year students or recent graduates with up to two years of experience. The role is based in Greece, with hybrid or fully remote options available depending on location. Successful candidates will have advanced familiarity with Vue.js/JavaScript or Laravel/PHP, a passion for building applications, and understanding of Git.

Requirements

• Advanced familiarity with one programming language (ideal case: Vue.js/JavaScript or Laravel/PHP)
• A passion for learning and building real-world applications
• Understanding of Git and version control basics
• Comfortable asking questions and collaborating in a team
• Strong attention to detail and curiosity
• Studies in a relevant field (Computer Science etc.)

Responsibilities

• Develop Frontend (Vue.js) or Backend (Laravel) features and bug fixes on the CTF platform
• Collaborate daily with developers, QA, and design
• Write clean, maintainable code with support from mentors
• Participate in code reviews and improve through feedback
• Develop and run tests to ensure stability and quality
• Learn agile workflows and team ceremonies
• Ship improvements that are seen and used by real users
• Shadow senior developers and get exposure to product thinking

Interest in CTFs, cybersecurity, or ethical hacking!
