Summary
Join ITHAKA as a Software Engineering Intern and gain hands-on experience in a real-world product development environment. You'll be an integral part of a web development team, designing, developing, and maintaining web applications on JSTOR's platform. This role offers opportunities to learn new technologies, contribute to problem-solving, and see the direct impact of your work on millions of users. ITHAKA provides comprehensive training, mentorship, and support to ensure your success. The internship is 12 weeks long, starting June 2, 2025, with applications due January 31, 2025. The hourly pay is $20.00.
Requirements
- Actively enrolled in a degree program
- Knowledge of accessibility, usability, information architecture, and interaction design principles
- Knowledge of responsive design interfaces
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React/Vue
- Familiarity with Webpack, Grunt or other similar build tools
- Willingness and ability to learn new approaches and emerging technology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail
- ITHAKA is not currently considering candidates who require any type of immigration sponsorship (additional work authorization or permanent work authorization) now or in the future to work in the United States
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Product Owner, User Experience Designer, and other team members to conduct Product Discovery using various testing methods including high and low fidelity prototypes, and live A/B testing
- Participate as a member of an agile team leveraging continuous deployment and test automation in order to deploy application changes to production on average more than once per day
- Implement rich, interactive web applications using the latest technologies, frameworks, and patterns
- Leverage web analytics as needed to support Product Discovery and to measure project KPIs
- Test, measure, and optimize performance using Application Performance Management and Web Developer Tools
