You will play a key role in ensuring the quality and user experience of their iOS, Android, and Web applications. Initially, you will focus on manual testing, but you will also strategically increase automation coverage. The position is remote, based in Europe, requiring EU time zone availability. You will be responsible for various testing aspects, including functional, regression, exploratory, performance, security, and accessibility testing. The ideal candidate is proactive, strategic, and highly experienced in building scalable systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Development Engineering in Test (SDET) roles
  • Experience in both manual and automated testing methodologies, with the ability to quickly master new features and build comprehensive test cases
  • Strong expertise in test automation framework design and implementation for complex distributed systems
  • Experience with Type Script
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks, such as Playwright, Cypress, Appium, XCUITest, Espresso, Jest, Pytest, K6, Maestro
  • Strong understanding of API testing principles and tools, such as Postman, OpenAPI/Swagger, gRPCurl
  • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, such as GCP, and containerization technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into the development workflow
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to diagnose complex technical issues
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working asynchronously in a remote-first, cross-functional team environment

Responsibilities

  • Manual Testing Ownership: Immediately take ownership of critical manual testing responsibilities, ensuring the timely and high-quality release of our iOS, Android, and Web applications. This includes comprehensive functional, regression, and exploratory testing of new features and existing functionalities
  • Strategic Automation Drive: Dedicate significant time to researching, designing, developing, and implementing robust, scalable automated test frameworks and suites for UI, API, and integration layers across mobile (iOS, Android) and web platforms. Your goal will be to significantly reduce the reliance on manual testing over time
  • Test Plan & Strategy Development: Develop and evolve comprehensive test strategies and plans for major features and critical product initiatives, encompassing functional, performance, security, and accessibility testing
  • Shift-Left Quality Advocate: Embed quality practices earlier in the development lifecycle by collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams from inception through deployment
  • Performance & Reliability Contribution: Contribute to implementing and monitoring performance, scalability, and reliability testing, working with SRE and backend teams to identify bottlenecks and ensure optimal application performance under load
  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilize telemetry, analytics, and crash reporting tools to gather insights into user behavior and identify areas for quality improvement
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, providing technical guidance and contributing to a culture of knowledge sharing and technical excellence within the engineering organization
  • Customer-Centric Focus: Act as a strong advocate for the end-user, ensuring a seamless, intuitive, and consistent experience across all platforms, and actively incorporating customer feedback into testing efforts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies
  • Familiarity with security testing principles and tools
  • Familiarity with Python or C#
  • Understanding of observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Prior experience working with FinTech products or regulated industries
  • Knowledge of blockchain technologies, Bitcoin, or the Lightning Network protocol
  • Contributions to open-source projects or relevant technical communities
