Summary
Join Hygraph as a Solution Architect and play a vital role in shaping how Hygraph interacts with global customers, particularly in the EMEA market. Collaborate with a diverse team to onboard, consult, and grow Hygraph's customer base. Develop best practice guidance and strategic enablement through reference architectures, workshops, and training. This customer-facing role requires deep technical and strategic discussions, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and designing and delivering interactive sessions. Contribute to the overall strategy of Hygraph's Customer Experience department, working closely with Product & Engineering teams to understand customer needs and future requirements. This role requires a solution-oriented mindset, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Requirements
- Have at least 5 years of experience in a related field; software engineering, solution/enterprise architecture, technical customer success, sales engineering, engineering management, and technical delivery
- Have experience with GraphQL and a deep understanding of federated and modern web application architectures
- Have a working understanding of how APIs of different types are consumed and used in various application contexts
- Have a solid working understanding of content strategy & content operations to facilitate the development of customers’ content schemas
- Work closely with Product & Engineering teams to provide and communicate a good understanding of how customers are using Hygraph and what their future needs are
- Closely collaborate with your counterparts in the presales world, forming a continuous journey for all of our customers
- Possess business acumen alongside technical skills, as you will support the growth of customers and align solutions with their broader objectives
- Be able to assess and prioritize customer pain points, identify underlying root causes, and suggest practical solutions that address both functional and non-functional requirements
- Have experience in leading change initiatives to enhance customer processes, solve complex problems, and drive continuous improvement
- Have a solution-oriented mindset, attention to detail, and an affinity for creative problem-solving
- Be proactive and have a consultative mindset; be keen to address customers’ concerns before they become issues
- Be an expert communicator, proficient in both written and spoken English
- Be willing to travel
- Have demonstrated experience working effectively in a remote environment, including managing projects and collaborating with multiple distributed teams across different time zones
Responsibilities
- Own the technical and best practice onboarding and ongoing proactive interactions with Hygraph customers
- Prescribe technical and content-based solutions, working on architectural proposals, and documenting complex customer cases
- Engage deeply with customers to understand their business needs, pain points, and non-functional requirements, ensuring proposed solutions align with their broader strategic objectives
- Design and deliver remote and in-person interactive sessions for customers that help drive them to their business goals
- Understand our customers’ business vision and take a strategic approach to platform recommendations, design, and architecture
- Contribute to the overall strategy of Hygraph’s Customer Experience department
Preferred Qualifications
- Have recent practical web development experience and a solid understanding of developer tools and platform space, including familiarity with modern software development practices and frameworks
- Have experience in consultation relating to business and enterprise architecture
- Have a working knowledge of how design methods and processes can impact a successful application development process, including design systems, design thinking, and service design
- Have experience and understanding of non-web development paradigms (such as mobile, physical computing, kiosk development, etc.)
- Have experience managing people or a desire to move in that direction
- Have experience in designing digital transformation strategies that help customers modernize and innovate
