Requirements
- Requires a bachelorβs degree from an accredited academic institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in one or more of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or similar discipline
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience working as a solutions architect, enterprise architect, enterprise application software developer, or similar role
- Knowledgeable about each step in the software development life cycle and the solution delivery process
- Knowledgeable about federal cybersecurity and IT management guidelines, frameworks, and mandates
- Experience in the federal workspace, specifically working with the enhancement and migration of large, complex legacy systems or the development of new applications in modern cloud environments
- Experience with modeling and diagramming tools (Sparx EA, Microsoft Visio, or similar)
- Experience leading ad-hoc teams through problem solving and collaborative design activities
Responsibilities
- Develop models of IT systems, technology architectures, business architectures, and business processes using Unified Modeling Language (UML), Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN), or other formal modeling languages
- Help design and implement a model repository using preferred HUD EA tools (Sparx Enterprise Architect and Prolaborate)
- Develop and recommend templates, guidelines, and processes to help the customer perform solutions architecture activities, including leading technical design reviews, documenting technical information, and technical analysis of HUD IT projects
- Research and recommend EA artifact standards HUD should use to document current and target state architectures
- Design and recommend Software Development Lifecycle processes and policies
- As needed, convert business requirements into solution architectures that integrate with the existing HUD enterprise IT environment
- Evaluate proposed HUD solution architectures to maximize use and value of HUD's existing technology capabilities
- Identify and recommend key performance indicators/evaluation criteria for technology pilots, proofs of concept, and modernization projects
- Apply Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF) concepts and taxonomies to EA tasks and functions
