Specialist Solutions Architect

Summary

Join Databricks as a Specialist Solutions Architect (SSA) - Data Governance to guide customers in adopting Unity Catalog and Delta Sharing, and help them learn how to use our products to govern their files, tables, machine learning models, and dashboards in the cloud.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in a technical role with expertise in data governance or data management
• Experience with data engineering, ETL design and development and database technologies or experience in big data platforms
• Enterprise Data Architecture experience including maintaining and extending production data systems to evolve with complex needs
• Experience working with Metastores (e.g. Hive Metastore) and governance policies, roles for cloud data storage systems
• Experience in designing and developing a data governance model that supports different layers of access control, data isolation and data sharing
• Experience working with different big data file systems, formats and storage layers
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience through work experience
• Production programming experience in SQL and Python, Scala, or Java
• 2 years of professional experience with Big Data technologies (Ex: Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) and architectures
• 2 years of customer-facing experience in a pre-sales or post-sales role
• Can meet expectations for technical training and role-specific outcomes within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Guide a variety of customers in adopting Unity Catalog (a unified data governance solution) and Delta Sharing (a secure data sharing platform)
• Work with and support the Solution Architects
• Help customers learn how to use our products to govern their files, tables, machine learning models, and dashboards in the cloud
• Collaborate using our sharing technologies
