SQL Server DBA

Summary

Join Encora as a Database Administrator (DBA) to support client database operations across SQL Server and Oracle environments. You will manage 100+ SQL Server and 40+ Oracle databases, implementing and maintaining database performance monitoring. Responsibilities include incident triage, resolution, and reporting, as well as regular health checks, backups, and maintenance. You will collaborate with development teams on schema changes and code performance reviews, and provide reporting and KPI dashboards. This role requires expertise in database tuning, monitoring tools, and security and compliance frameworks. The position is full-time and work from home in Brazil.

Requirements

• DBA experience with both SQL Server and Oracle (11g/12c/19c)
• Expertise in tuning queries, index management, and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks
• Proficiency in database monitoring tools (OEM, Spotlight) and integration with ticketing tools (e.g., JIRA)
• Knowledge of cloud and hybrid environments (Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud)
• Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (PCI, GDPR)
• Experience with DR planning, backup/recovery strategies, and HA architecture

Responsibilities

• Manage 100+ SQL Server and 40+ Oracle databases, including Oracle Database Appliance (ODA)
• Implement and maintain database performance monitoring using Spotlight, OEM 23i, and other tools
• Participate in and lead incident triage, resolution, RCA, and post-mortem reporting
• Perform regular health checks, backups, patching, and maintenance (RMAN, Data Guard, GoldenGate)
• Implement alert thresholds, automate diagnostics, and prevent alert fatigue
• Support database recovery, compliance (PCI/GDPR), and DR failover testing
• Collaborate with Dev teams for schema changes, code performance reviews, and test environments
• Use tools for version control of stored procedures and deployment automation (e.g., GitHub, pipelines)
• Provide reporting and KPI dashboards on performance, availability, and SLA compliance
• Follow best practices in security, including CyberArk PAM, encryption, and vulnerability remediation
