Summary

AKASA is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their team in South San Francisco or remotely within the US. The candidate will use statistical methodologies to assess the value and impact of AKASA's products on key outcomes for hospitals and providers, communicate insights to stakeholders, and develop sophisticated healthcare algorithms and data assets. A Ph.D., Masterโ€™s degree, or Bachelorโ€™s degree with relevant experience is required, along with proficiency in advanced statistical analysis, Python, SQL, and excellent communication skills.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. and 3+ years of experience or Masterโ€™s and 5-7 years of experience or Bachelorโ€™s and 8+ years of experience in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Public Health, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 2-4 years experience specifically in the healthcare domain, working with EHR data, clinical data, claims data, or similar
  • Proficiency in advanced statistical analysis and research design
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate cross-functionally with a variety of stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Leverage causal inference and other statistical methodologies to assess the value and impact of our products on key outcomes for hospitals and providers using financial and other data sources
  • Clearly communicate insights highlighting the impact of our product offering to a wide variety of stakeholders across the organization
  • Own the development of sophisticated healthcare algorithms and data assets that will improve not only our ability to communicate value to health systems but also our product offerings themselves

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in causal inference and/or econometrics
  • Experience working with Data Warehouses
  • Background in software development fundamentals and experience delivering software-based products
