Sr. Systems Engineer

The job is for a Systems Engineer at Extreme Networks based in Ottawa, Ontario. The role involves supporting the Sales Account Executive team in a pre-sales capacity, delivering presentations and demos, and providing design, planning, implementation, and training assistance on their networking solutions.

Requirements

• BS. in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience with minimum of 5+ years relevant experience
• Expert in networking technologies with competitive Network industry and regional knowledge and experience desired
• Proven ability to develop customer relationships with focus on becoming trusted advisor
• Thorough knowledge of security framework, design and features with ability to perform analysis of client enterprise networks
• Hands-on experience using network toolsets, for wired, wireless and security products
• Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting and problem resolution in a network environment
• Keen ability to understand and analyze customer requirements and position Networks Solutions effectively
• Ability to learn and effectively demonstrate technology solution concepts and advantages
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex customer interactions in difficult circumstances and control customer expectations in order to maintain satisfied customers
• Excellent inter-personal, technical presentation and communication skills
• Proven team player in cross-functional workforce environment

Responsibilities

• Support the Sales Account Executive team across the region in a Pre-Sales Capacity
• Deliver presentations and demos, supporting Proof of Concepts
• Provide design, planning, implementation and training assistance on the Extreme portfolio solution

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference made for applicants that are bilingual in English and French
• Candidates with Canadian Federal Government security clearance is desired. Minimum security clearance Secret (Level II), with preferences towards candidates that have Top Secret or Enhanced Top Secret (Level III)
• Network Certifications desired, IE: Switching, Routing, Wireless, Security, Network Management, Cloud Technologies
