SRE Backend Engineer

Requirements

• A professional experienced in working within multi-functional teams, collaborating closely with engineers, SREs, and product teams
• A developer with a solid grasp of backend technologies, system architecture, and the typical challenges of building reliable, scalable services
• An engineer proficient in Golang, with additional knowledge of Python considered a plus
• Someone skilled in debugging and performance optimization to quickly identify and fix bottlenecks or reliability issues
• A practitioner familiar with CI/CD pipelines, RESTful APIs, and running applications on AWS cloud infrastructure
• Experienced with both relational and non-relational databases such as MySQL, DynamoDB, and Redis
• A problem solver who thinks economically and pragmatically when designing solutions for large-scale web applications
• An enthusiast eager to deepen expertise in SRE tooling, processes, and best practices
• A strong communicator in English, comfortable sharing knowledge and collaborating across distributed teams

Responsibilities

• Own the development and improvement of internal tools and platforms that enhance system observability, automation, and incident response
• Engage in product and platform design discussions, writing and reviewing high-quality code primarily in Golang, focused on reliability and maintainability
• Participate actively in security and privacy discussions, ensuring our systems meet high standards of compliance and safety
• Collaborate with engineers across different OLX locations and CoreTech teams to solve complex technical challenges
• Drive and contribute to technical documentation, including design documents and RFCs, fostering knowledge sharing and alignment across teams
• Take part in continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices (e.g., Terraform), promoting automation and repeatability on cloud-native platforms
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in the growth of the SRE and engineering communities within OLX
