Summary

Join Turnitin's Accounting Team as a Staff Accountant and play a vital role in maintaining general ledgers, balance sheet account reconciliations, and supporting other accounting functions. You will be involved in the month-end close process, working with teams across multiple time zones. This position requires a part-qualified accounting designation (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), advanced Excel skills, and experience with accounting systems (NetSuite preferred). You will contribute to process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and increase efficiencies. Requirements

  • Part Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with Accounting & Finance experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced Excel skills and hands-on exposure to accounting systems (NetSuite preferred)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Strong written and oral communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills and relationship building
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize and manage workload involving multiple tasks, responsibilities and deadlines with follow-through and minimal supervision
  • Self-starter and proactive thinker

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of general ledger and associated accounting of Turnitin’s US & International Entities
  • Assisting in Turnitin’s Year End Audits
  • Working with Turnitin’s Tax Team to ensure deliverables of VAT and Corporate Tax Reporting
  • Preparation of monthly journal entries and reconciliations for all non-revenue related G/L accounts
  • Reconciliation of cash accounts during the month end close ensuring all cash activity is properly reflected in the General Ledger
  • Ensuring accuracy over Prepayments and Accruals at Month End
  • Posting of Payroll Journals
  • Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations and investigation of reconciling items
  • Preparation of detailed Variance Analysis reports for management review
  • Assist with support to internal customers including ad-hoc financial analysis, and special projects
  • Participation in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures
  • Assisting in Cash Management and Cash Forecasting
