Staff Accountant

Summary

The job description is for a six month remote Staff Accountant position in the Finance team. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or related discipline, 4+ years of accounting experience, 2+ years of Indirect Tax experience in the US & Europe, strong Excel skills, detail-orientation, understanding of US generally accepted accounting principles, and experience working with NetSuite ERP system.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or related discipline
• 4+ Years Accounting Experience - General Ledger, Journal Entries, Accruals, GL Account reconciliations, sales and use tax, assist with month-end entries & closing
• 2+ Experience with Indirect Tax in the US & Europe
• Strong Excel skill and experience working with large sets of data
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to learn fast
• Solid understanding of US generally accepted accounting principles
• Experience working in NetSuite ERP system
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Exhibit a positive attitude and enjoy working in a collaborative fast paced environment

Responsibilities

• Manage company Sales Tax and VAT reporting and reconciliation working with our tax partners in the EMEA and North America
• Active role in monthly close process including maintenance of the general ledger by creating & reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses
• Responsible for reconciliation of all GL accounts related to Sales Tax, VAT, Intercompany & Equity
• Work closely with outsourced accountants in EMEA & APAC to maintain the books for the subsidiaries
• Assist with ad hoc projects and prepare responses to various requests for information
• Document business process & drive continual process improvement leveraging best practices
