Summary

The job is for a Staff Accountant at Mattermost, responsible for daily accounting operations, vendor management, customer invoicing, collections, and assisting with month end close cycles. Requires a BA/BS in Finance or related field, 3-5 years of accounting experience, proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, strong analytical skills, technical accounting knowledge, and good communication skills.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Finance and Accounting or related field
• 3-5 years accounting or related experience
• Strong background in accounts payable and accounts receivable is a plus
• NetSuite, Airbase, Floqast, and Salesforce experience a plus
• Proficient with Excel and Google Sheets
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Detail oriented and effective problem solving to identify and resolve financial discrepancies
• Technical accounting skills and working knowledge of GAAP principles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Flexible to meet changing priorities and the ability to prioritize workload to achieve on time accurate results
• Thrives in a small team environment and is willing/able to learn and build vs inherit existing, mature processes & systems
• Self-directed and able to effectively complete tasks with minimal supervision and work remotely within a small team

Responsibilities

• Process vendor bills
• Review customer sales orders
• Send out customer invoices
• Perform customer collections for delinquent customers
• Reconcile daily cash transactions
• Assist in preparing audit & tax information, internal control procedures & policies, and tax returns
• Provide backup support to other accounting team members as needed
• Assist with ad-hoc projects and management inquiries

Benefits

• $68,000 - $100,000 a year
