Staff Cloud Engineer

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 12+ years of related experience, master’s degree and 8+ years of related experience, or equivalent related work experience
• Expertise with two of the three major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience with IBM Cloud is a plus
• Strong proficiency in cloud automation tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with Cloud optimization tools such as Spot/CloudCheckr, Cloudability, Flexera
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring
• Solid understanding of networking, security, and cloud governance principles
• Experience with cloud monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Datadog, ELK)
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges, identify solutions, and implement them effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions in AWS, Azure and GCP
• Lead efforts to optimize cloud environments for performance, cost-efficiency, and security
• Collaborate with software engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to define cloud architecture strategies and best practices
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and monitoring (Infrastructure-as-Code)
• Drive the adoption of cloud-native technologies, including containerization, serverless architectures, and microservices
• Implement and evangelize cloud security best practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Monitor cloud infrastructure and respond to incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and quick recovery
• Lead capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery strategies for cloud systems
• Mentor junior cloud engineers, providing guidance and technical expertise to support their growth and development
