Staff Data Scientist

Summary

Join ezCater as a Staff Data Scientist and play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying data science and ML models to revolutionize the business and transform customer's experience of Food For Work. As a thought leader, you will elucidate and demonstrate business opportunities that can be solved with advanced Data Science models. You will lead the design and implementation of advanced statistical and data science models across ezCater’s growing business, advance innovation and improvements to analytics techniques, approaches, and processes used across the company, set technical direction and standards for coding and designing models, use advanced statistical techniques to analyze large datasets, extract meaningful insights, and provide actionable recommendations. You will also develop predictive models to forecast user behavior, identify trends, and anticipate customer needs, contributing to data-driven decision-making in product development.

Requirements

• Background in B2B/B2C marketplace or e-commerce environments
• 7+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field, performing statistical modeling and quantitative and technical analysis
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and experience with big data tools (e.g., Snowflake, Hadoop, Spark) and Interactive Computing Environments (e.g. DeepNote, Jupyter Notebooks, Google Colab)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and MLOps tools and practices for deploying and managing machine learning models
• Proven track record of deploying and maintaining data science & machine learning algorithms that are widely used and adopted in business applications
• Proven track record of ‘leading by example’ through collaboration, guidance, and mentoring of other data scientists & or analysts in employing methodologies and vetting applications for performance, accuracy and quality
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently
• Excellent communication skills for conveying complex concepts to non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

• Be the thought leader for elucidating and demonstrating the business opportunities that can be solved with applying advanced Data Science models to ezCater’s business
• Coach and mentor technical analysts and other data scientists in applying models; establish best practices and standards
• As an individual contributor, lead the design and implementation of advanced statistical and data science models across ezCater’s growing business
• Advance innovation and improvements to the analytics techniques, approaches, and processes used across the company
• Set the technical direction and standards for coding and designing models across ezCater’s business
• Data Analysis and Interpretation: Use advanced statistical techniques such as Bayesian and causal inference to analyze large datasets, extract meaningful insights, and provide actionable recommendations
• Modeling and Optimization: Develop, apply, and optimize models using cutting-edge techniques in data science and optimization to address complex business challenges
• A/B Testing: Design, implement, and execute A/B tests to evaluate the impact of different product changes and features on user engagement, retention, and conversion rates
• Predictive Modeling: Develop predictive models to forecast user behavior, identify trends, and anticipate customer needs, contributing to data-driven decision-making in product development
• Machine Learning Model Integration: Partner with our ML team to integrate customer-centric data science models and algorithms into the customer experience in the most valuable and effective manner, including providing personalized experiences, recommendations, and features for users
• Experimentation and Analytic Innovation: Explore new data sources, techniques, and technologies to enhance the data science capabilities and contribute to innovation within the product development process
• Collaborate: Work closely with other data scientists, analysts, engineering, product, and business teams to understand their needs and deliver data-science powered solutions
• Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and relevant industry trends, applying these insights to your work to move the company forward
