Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in database support and administration
  • Expertise in PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL, and Oracle environments
  • Deep understanding of database internals, high availability, replication, backup and recovery, partitioning, and indexing
  • Practical coding experience with Python, Perl, JavaScript, and Shell
  • Strong familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and storage systems (e.g., SAN, NAS, file systems)
  • Proven experience in performance tuning and benchmarking of database systems
  • Ability to write and present clear, concise technical documentation and deliver impactful technical presentations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert-level support for PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL, and Oracle database systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues involving performance, availability, and data integrity
  • Maintain and enhance WF code to support automation in the cloud
  • Collaborate directly with customers to understand their environments and provide solutions tailored to their needs
  • Design and execute benchmark tests to evaluate and optimize database performance
  • Develop and maintain robust technical documentation, including runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and best practices
  • Present technical content effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in customer-facing roles or support environments
  • Experience with ServiceNow workflow architecture and development
  • Familiarity with cloud database deployments (AWS RDS, Azure Database Services, etc.)
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools and database observability platforms
  • Present technical content effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
