Staff Engineer

Summary

Join Forbes Advisor as a Staff Engineer – React and lead the architecture and development of frontend components using React. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance solutions. Drive engineering best practices and influence technical direction. Own the full software development lifecycle, from design to deployment. This remote/hybrid role requires 10+ years of experience, including 5+ years of hands-on React experience, and a background in architecting scalable applications in a product-based environment. Candidates should have experience with Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, AWS, and CDN technologies. Experience in the insurance or fintech domain is a plus.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in React (latest experience is mandatory)
• 3+ years experience in Node.js
• 3+ years experience in TypeScript
• Strong understanding of GraphQL (minimum 1–2 years)
• Experience in using AWS cloud services
• Minimum 2 years of experience with CDN technologies (Cloudflare, Akamai, Fastly, etc.)
• Strong understanding of system architecture and performance optimization
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience in architecting complex systems and influencing technical direction

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and development of frontend components using React
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Backend, and DevOps to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions
• Drive engineering best practices across the team in code quality, testing, and CI/CD
• Influence technical direction and strategic decisions in product development
• Own and manage the full software development lifecycle, including system design, implementation, and deployment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the insurance or fintech domain
• Hands-on experience with server-side rendering, Next.js, or micro-frontends
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
