Summary

Requirements
- Experience in software engineering and architecture
- Effective problem-solving and debugging skills
- Highly effective communication and facilitation abilities
- Ability to develop and execute strategic plans
- Experience mentoring and guiding other engineers
- Comprehensive understanding of industry best practices and technologies including
- A solid understanding of AWS infrastructure including event driven and serverless architectures
- Experience delivering scalable systems that solve complex technical challenges
- An interest in contributing to the future of Trustpilot, and the ability to advocate for and make crucial technical decisions, in a pragmatic way
- A customer-centric and solution-oriented mindset with a bias to action
- The ability to communicate complex problems to a diverse group of stakeholders

Responsibilities
- Develop and carry out cohesive plans that align with organizational goals and deadlines
- Implement novel approaches to ensure the quality and production readiness of complex systems
- Maintain awareness of work outside the immediate group to minimize surprises and enhance project results
- Leverage specialized knowledge to improve organizational capabilities in the relevant domain
- Engage in sharing knowledge and teach others
- Introduce industry best practices and technologies to solve problems
- Ensure consistent delivery of projects through deep expertise
- Solve complex issues across unfamiliar areas of the codebase
- Develop solutions that are scalable, robust, and maintainable
- Create architecture that is resilient to single points of failure
- Develop roadmaps with actionable milestones for large systems or projects
- Collaborate with fellow Staff Engineers in the organization to cultivate a robust internal network
- Ensure documentation enables system maintenance and development by others
- Facilitate collaboration and decision-making among disparate groups
- Adapt communication to various technical and non-technical audiences
- Promote mindful communication and active listening
- Teach and share knowledge to improve the engineering organization
