Staff Engineer, Reliability

Summary

Join Wolt's dynamic Core engineering team as a Staff Engineer focused on platform reliability. Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable platform solutions for our e-commerce business. You will set technical direction, mentor engineers, and ensure our platform architecture supports rapid growth and reliability. This role offers flexibility to work from home, office, or hybrid, based in Helsinki, Stockholm, Tallinn, or Berlin. The compensation includes a negotiable monthly pay and DoorDash RSUs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of a robust, scalable platform architecture that supports our business goals and growth
• Provide technical direction and leadership to multiple teams to ensure best practices in software development, deployment, and maintenance
• Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to improve platform performance, scalability, reliability and security
• Mentor and guide engineers at various levels, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
• Work closely with Core´s engineers and other engineering teams to align platform initiatives with business needs and goals
• Ensure the reliability of our platform through the rigorous adoption of high-quality observability dashboards and SLOs across the engineering organization
• Design, develop, and maintain SRE tooling to automate and streamline incident management processes
• Develop tooling to measure the SRE maturity of applications and services, integrating with existing platforms like Wolt's Developer Platform
• Tools and Dashboards Consolidation
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of platform architecture, design decisions, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks and reliability issues to ensure the platform operates efficiently at scale
• Implement and enforce security best practices to protect data and maintain the integrity of our platform in alignment with our Security Engineers
• Using facts, metrics, and data to guide strategic decisions that align with your goals, objectives, and initiatives
• Jump on implementation topics wherever seniority is needed. (Go/Python)
