Summary

The job is for a Staff ML Engineer at Culture Amp, a leading employee experience platform. The role involves working on the Machine Learning Platform (MLP) team to build and enhance an AI-powered machine learning platform. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, stay updated with the latest advancements in machine learning and AI technologies, and play a tech lead role for the team.

Requirements

  • Passionate about machine learning, AI (particularly Generative AI), LLMs
  • Advocate of sensible, ethical, and responsible use of AI
  • Able to influence others without authority, working collaboratively with diverse engineers and cross-functional teams
  • A proactive and clear communicator. You value empathy and kindness and are able to articulate your ideas and feelings when writing or speaking, and are open to the perspectives others bring
  • Self-motivated and can work independently. You take the initiative to ensure that you have everything you need to work efficiently and call for support when required
  • Python software engineering expertise
  • Experience with various stages of the ML lifecycle and MLOps: data labeling, fine tuning models, evaluation, CI/CD, deployment, versioning, monitoring, etc
  • Familiarity with machine learning libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, HuggingFace)
  • Understanding of transformer architectures and LLMs
  • Experience working with AI, machine learning, LLMs and NLP
  • Experience working with cloud platforms and infrastructure (e.g. AWS, GCP)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and contribute to best practices in ML engineering
  • Collaborate and guide other engineers in your team through pair/mob programming, writing solution designs, or giving feedback on pull requests, to build shared understanding of your work
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and AI technologies and integrate them into our products
  • Play a huge role in coaching and uplifting other engineers in the team
  • Play a tech lead role for the team and work support leadership to define long term technical vision for the team
