Staff Machine Learning Engineer

Requirements

• Have extensive professional experience building, designing, and deploying machine learning systems using a number of different tool stacks, techniques, and deployment paradigms
• Be proficient and comfortable programming in Python
• Have experience with object-oriented programming, code hygiene, basic version control
• Be comfortable working with deadlines and be confident in your time management
• Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to brainstorm, collaborate and problem solve with engineers at all levels in order to deliver on client expectations efficiently and exceptionally
• Be skilled at driving work in client-facing environments and driving consensus while balancing the needs of internal and external stakeholders
• Have demonstrated experience in communicating high-level technical details to clients of technical and non-technical backgrounds
• Have a Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities

• Design and develop bespoke machine learning models, transforming complex challenges into impactful deliverables for clients on-time and on-budget
• Conduct diverse machine learning experiments in a collaborative environment that values knowledge-sharing, inclusivity, and trust
• Make system-level architecture decisions. You’ll direct the team, and ultimately own, the specification of requirements to build engineering solutions that meet client expectations
• Work closely with project leads of other disciplines to navigate ambiguous project direction and formalize actionable engineering plans
• Ensure project teams maintain an ROI-driven mindset while executing engineering project plans
• Partner with engineers in a pair programming setting to translate theoretical models into robust, scalable solutions
• Engage in client-facing activities, building lasting partnerships by effectively bridging cutting-edge technology with real-world business needs
• Lead and mentor project teams, guiding them through machine learning projects and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement
• Stay at the forefront of machine learning advancements, ensuring our solutions are informed by the latest techniques and innovations
• Serve as technical lead for projects with minimal aid from Directors of Engineering
• Contribute to internal initiatives and processes like interviews, internal tooling development, evolving best practices, and others
