Staff Mobile Engineer

Summary

Join CookUnity's Marketplace Zone as a Staff Engineer to lead the migration of native iOS and Android apps to React Native and spearhead the Mobile Guild. You will contribute to feature development, play a key role in the company's mobile-first transition, and collaborate with Product and Design teams. Requirements

• 3+ years of development experience with React Native
• Proficiency in iOS development, with demonstrated experience in building and maintaining iOS applications
• Experience migrating native mobile apps to React Native
• Strong mentorship skills and a passion for helping engineers grow and learn
• Track record of collaborating with Product and Design teams to architect, prioritize, and deliver impactful mobile features
• Ability to drive cross-functional initiatives and build strong relationships with other teams
• Deep understanding of mobile development best practices, architecture, and performance optimization

Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of native iOS and Android apps to React Native, developing and executing the migration plan
• Lead the Mobile Guild, building a strong community of mobile engineers across various teams, and driving initiatives around the performance, quality, and developer experience of our mobile platform
• Contribute to feature development by working directly on mobile features
• Play a key role in the organizational shift to becoming mobile-first
• Work closely with Product and Design teams to deliver seamless and user-friendly mobile experiences
• Mentor and coach mobile engineers on best practices, React Native development, and mobile craftsmanship, helping them transition from native to RN
• Establish and maintain high standards for mobile development, including code quality, performance, and reliability
• Drive collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the team to improve development workflows and mobile development best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering community of practices or guilds
• Experience with e-commerce mobile apps
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
