Requirements

  • Strong hardware-oriented networking leader
  • Curious to explore new technologies and understand hardware specifications/intricacies
  • Experience in a similar role related to data center management and networking
  • Understand the following with practical experience: MPLS, bare-metal servers, Ubuntu/Linux, TCP/IP, BGP, NAT, OS and NIC tuning, Cloud interconnects, firewall config and rules, compute components
  • Experience working with Containerization (Docker & Kubernetes preferred)
  • Automation experience with configuration management
  • Experience with Agile practices
  • Experience working with the GCP stack, and/or on-premises - from a networking/hardware triage perspective
  • Ability to work independently and learn quickly with little supervision / leading your team to execute effectively
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, and/or similar experience
  • Experience with networking, hardware, and data center practicals
  • Comfortable with in-country traveling

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and help with the implementation, documentation and deployment for our new state launches which utilizes a hybrid-cloud approach / bare-metal stack
  • Interpret business requirements to create a BOM for procuring hardware while determining optimal specifications and sizing
  • Design and validate performant networking/compute architectures and how our services consume it optimally
  • Mentor and uplift the Field/Network Engineering team members
  • Respond and provide technical direction to Engineering regarding operational issues, networking challenges, NIC optimization, storage settings, OS tuning, firmware upgrades and general maintenance
  • Assess the hardware implementation, troubleshoot and diagnose issues through research and/or re-production to determine the root cause - recommend suitable solutions and conclude forensics
  • Install product(s) or OS systems at data centers or office sites (which can also include directing the shipment and peripherals required for on-site setup)
  • Design, architect, automate, and implement firewalls, network topology, and hardware specifications
  • Participate in / support planning requirements for long running projects. On-occasion, provide on-site technical direction to new critical rollouts and hardware deployments
