Staff Product Designer, Remote - Europe

Summary

The job is for a Design Lead at Deel, an international payroll and compliance company. The role involves analyzing customer problems, creating solutions, team leadership, mentorship, design reviews, vision alignment, execution steering, cross-platform problem solving, and design ownership. Requirements include passion for design, fast learning ability, experience in mentoring product designers, minimum 5-7 years of experience as a product designer, current role as Staff Product Designer or equivalent with at least 1-2 years of leading design experience, strong knowledge in UX/UI, payroll and fintech, autonomy, embedded development team experience, comfort with the end-to-end development process, and being in EMEA or LATAM time zones. Preferred requirements include higher education in related fields.

Requirements

• Experienced on mentoring product designers (the ability to give constructive feedback to enable product designers to learn and progress)
• Previously worked for minimum of 5-7. years experience as product designer in fast paced environment (ideally scale up/ start up)
• Currently on working as Staff product designer (or equivalent title) and have a minimum of 1 to 2 years experience leading design in face paced environment (ideally scale up/ start up)
• Have strong knowledge and practice in both UX and UI
• Have good knowledge of Payroll and fintech
• Experienced in design systems
• Autonomous force multiplier for their team and designers around them
• Know when to go deep on a task and when to execute
• Experienced with being embedded into a development team with light touch from the product manager. We believe that the work comes from everyone, not just top down
• Be comfortable with being involved with the end to end development process. From ideation to design QA - you feed and unblock the team
• For this role, you will need to be in EMEA or LATAM time zones

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly analyze customers’ and business problems to identify key pain points
• Quickly develop impactful and elegant solutions to identified problems
• Approach product development from a high-level perspective to connect missing dots and ensure cohesion
• Update acceptance criteria and define the logic underlying your work
• Take full cycle ownership of your work, from ideation and design to review, feedback in the final test build, and post-release evaluation
• Co-lead your team alongside Product Managers and Developers
• Actively provide feedback and mentor designers within your team
• Perform design reviews for your vertical
• Drive the vision for your product, ensuring your team is aligned on achieving a better future state
• Guide the team’s design execution to meet business goals
• Work holistically across multiple platforms, including the employee portal, employer portal, and admin dashboard for customer support
• Manage the design work for one or more product teams, depending on complexity
• Ensure the design quality within your vertical meets our Deel Design Standards
