Staff Software Architect

Requirements

• BS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in software development, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or architecture role
• Expertise in system design and architecture for enterprise applications
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
• Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, or similar)
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a deep understanding of scalability, performance, and security considerations

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the technical vision and architecture of the Shipwell platform
• Design high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions
• Provide guidance on best practices for system architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies
• Drive technical innovation and stay ahead of emerging trends and technologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration across the platform
• Lead code reviews, technical discussions, and mentoring to elevate the team’s expertise
• Identify and mitigate technical risks to ensure long-term scalability and performance
• Act as a thought leader and advocate for engineering excellence across the organization
