Summary
Join Shipwell as a Staff Software Architect and lead the technical architecture and strategy of a high-growth startup. Requirements
- BS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in software development, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or architecture role
- Expertise in system design and architecture for enterprise applications
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
- Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a deep understanding of scalability, performance, and security considerations
Responsibilities
- Define and communicate the technical vision and architecture of the Shipwell platform
- Design high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions
- Provide guidance on best practices for system architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies
- Drive technical innovation and stay ahead of emerging trends and technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration across the platform
- Lead code reviews, technical discussions, and mentoring to elevate the teamβs expertise
- Identify and mitigate technical risks to ensure long-term scalability and performance
- Act as a thought leader and advocate for engineering excellence across the organization
