Staff Software Engineer, Ads Creative

Summary

Join Reddit's Ads Creative Management team as a Staff Backend Engineer and build AI-based tools to enhance advertiser experiences. You will design and develop solutions for asset storage, management, and optimization, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Leverage your expertise in asset management, AI/LLMs, and scaling services to create world-class tools. This role requires strong coding skills, experience with large-scale projects, and excellent communication abilities. Mentoring junior engineers is also a key responsibility. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in a similar role.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer with recent experience in a Staff role
• Experience executing on large scale projects from 0 to 1
• History of mentoring and growing junior engineers
• Excellent communication skills. You must be able to collaborate effectively with teams in a remote environment, and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging to identify and resolve integration issues
• Software development experience in one or more general purpose languages: Python, Golang, Rust, Java, Javascript, etc

Responsibilities

• Execution: Write clean, well tested, maintainable code that adheres to best practices
• Integration: Design and build solutions that span systems, and own the software design end to end
• Communication: Work in partnership with management and senior leadership to ensure alignment between technical and business goals
• Collaboration: Work with cross functional partners for feature development, bug fixes, and new system design to gather input and requirements
• Problem Solving: Proactively identify technical challenges and propose innovative solutions that align with the team's goals and contribute to the overall success of advertiser revenue growth

• Ads Industry experience
• Experience with LLMs and generative AI
