Staff Software Engineer

Summary

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on AI/ML systems, including developing and deploying generative models
• Proficiency in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and Python
• Experience with database management / querying, e.g. SQL, MongoDB, etc
• Deep expertise in AWS and IaC tools such as Terraform, with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience
• Strong understanding of ML infrastructure, including data pipelines, model serving, and scaling
• Proven track record of delivering high-impact AI solutions in production environments
• Experience implementing and maintaining AI/ML best practices, including CI/CD pipelines and operational monitoring
• Skilled at translating complex technical concepts into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to mentor and uplift team capabilities
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, training, and optimization of large-scale generative AI models to support innovative use cases across Headspace
• Own the lifecycle of generative AI initiatives, from ideation to deployment, ensuring robust and scalable production systems
• Build and enhance the generative AI platform using AWS and modern development tools, with a focus on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
• Ensure the scalability and reliability of generative AI systems by implementing robust CI/CD pipelines, monitoring solutions, and alerting systems
• Partner with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to integrate generative AI capabilities into Headspace’s products and services
• Guide and mentor team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning
