Staff Software Engineer

Summary

Join Huntress, a fully remote global cybersecurity team, as a Staff Software Engineer. You will lead a feature delivery team, designing, developing, and releasing software features for the Huntress Managed Security Portal. This role requires a strong technical vision, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor junior engineers. You will focus on the entire software life cycle, from design to risk management, ensuring high-quality code and timely project completion. Requirements

• 10+ years of experience developing complex software products
• 5+ years of programming in Ruby on Rails
• Experience with JavaScript
• Experience working on Linux-based infrastructure
• Experience with databases such as Postgres

Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing the technical aspects of the development of features for the Huntress Managed Security Portal
• Lead and develop high-quality software, software designs, and architecture, and set standards for team excellence
• Convert acceptance criteria into functional workflows and data models and associated software design
• Be a technical thought leader for your team, providing architectural and design direction
• Focus on the entire life cycle of the system, including evolution, configuration, and risk management
• Ensure code quality and test code coverage through code reviews and test plan reviews
• Lead the team in providing accurate estimates and taking ownership of the timely completion of work
• Mentor junior engineers to help them level up their skills
• Motivate teams and promote collaboration and engagement
• Actively engage with the team and lead by being a positive role model

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Hotwire, Stimulus, Turbo
• Experience with Clickhouse database
• Experience with AWS Cloud Environments
