Summary

Join Invisible's newly-chartered Developer Productivity team as a Staff Software Engineer. Lead projects enhancing engineering team efficiency in areas like iteration pace, deployment reliability, testing completeness, system safety, and minimizing toil. You will define and build standard abstractions, unify CI/CD infrastructure, investigate engineering challenges, and create tools promoting best practices. This role requires 8+ years of software engineering experience, remote team experience, and expertise in various technologies including React, Python web frameworks, data management systems, and Kubernetes. Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering work experience
  • Experience working with fully remote teams
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with multiple teams on large-scope projects
  • Demonstrated experience presenting on technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience authoring and maintaining excellent org-wide documentation
  • Demonstrated independence in project management around ambiguous problems
  • Strong experience with these technologies: Frontend using React
  • Strong experience with these technologies: Backend using Python Web Frameworks (Flask, Django, FastAPI, etc.)
  • Strong experience with these technologies: Data Management Systems (PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Kafka, etc.)
  • Strong experience with these technologies: Cloud Deployment using Kubernetes (with observability)

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering projects from start to finish
  • Define and build standard abstractions for service operation, deployment, and observability
  • Unify CI/CD infrastructure across all of Invisible
  • Investigate and understand common challenges across engineering teams
  • Build and introduce simple tools that make best practices convenient to execute
  • Be a champion of Invisibleโ€™s culture within engineering

  • Base + Bonus Target: $260,000
