Staff Software Engineer

Requirements

• Multiple years of experience as a Staff Software Engineer
• Proficiency in designing, building and operating reliable software systems for low latency processing and streaming
• Expertise in Node.js / Typescript, pub/sub and other asynchronous messaging patterns and related systems
• Proficiency in Kubernetes and Infrastructure-as-code, e.g. Terraform
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and technical communication, both written and verbal
• Ability to raise the bar on operational excellence
• Experience in mentoring fellow engineers

Responsibilities

• Define the technical direction for our domain
• Optimize our engineering organization to grow and achieve objectives
• Identify gaps and influence the design, quality, security, and availability of our platform
• Partner with other engineering teams to improve performance, observability, and reliability, and set targets and SLOs to make sure we adhere to them
• Provide architectural guidance and ensuring alignment with the company’s overall vision
• Act as a thought leader, mentoring other engineers, and sharing best practices with the company

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building programmable voice and video APIs
• Hands-on experience with open-source RTC solutions, like signalling proxies, B2BUAs and WebRTC gateways
• Solid understanding of RTC protocols
