Summary
Join ServiceNow as a Staff Software Engineer and collaborate with the Data Center Operations team to deliver technical solutions. You will focus on digitalizing data center operations, working with key team members. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in web development, messaging protocols, and data center knowledge, with a passion for building and automating scalable solutions. You will develop dashboards, scripts, and workflows, work with product owners, and design user-friendly software. The role involves working in a Scrum-based Agile environment and requires experience with Java, node.js, REST APIs, and JavaScript. The position also requires a deep understanding of data centers and related infrastructure concepts.
Requirements
- Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AIβs potential impact on the function or industry
- 6+ years of experience with Java or a similar OO language
- Experience with node.js and REST APIs
- Passion for JavaScript and the Web as a platform, reusability, and componentization
- Positive βcan doβ attitude and self-motivated with the ability to multitask
- Experience with data centers, distributed systems and platforms
- Has a working understanding of related infrastructure concepts such as IP networking, block and file storage, load-balancers, etc
- Can figure things out. You will have documentation and many peers to turn to for help, but your work will touch many interconnected systems and technologies. To succeed you will need to investigate and discover on your own
- Ability to understand abstract requirements and translate them into implementations
- Interest in data analysis and utilization, including standardising metrics, making dashboards, and workflows
- Proven ability to work in a team and collaborative mindset
- Ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders to deliver solutions in a timely manner
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement dashboards, scripts, and workflows based on business requirements
- Work with the product owners to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design, implementation, test automation and delivery of high-quality product to our users
- Design software that is simple to use to allow customers to extend and customize the functionality to meet their specific needs
- Working in a Scrum-based Agile development process that is heavy on coding and upholds best practices
