Requirements
- 15+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on distributed systems, APIs, and event-driven architectures
- Proven expertise in building and maintaining high-performance, scalable APIs and OEM integrations
- Strong background in providing architectural guidance and leading cross-functional engineering efforts
- Hands-on experience with programming languages such as JavaScript with proficiency in other relevant languages (Python and Go)
- Familiarity with event-based architectures (e.g., Kinesis, Kafka, RabbitMQ) and streaming platforms
- Proficiency in AWS or other cloud platforms, with hands-on experience in designing scalable cloud-based solutions
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and guide teams through complex technical challenges
- Excellent communication skills and experience working closely with product managers and other stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of OEM adapter integrations, ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with Smartcarβs platform goals
- Drive the technical direction of the OEM Adapter Engineering team, focusing on building secure, robust, and efficient integrations with a wide variety of vehicle manufacturers
- Develop and enhance systems that handle data ingestion, normalization, and delivery from OEMs, ensuring high reliability and low latency
- Set high standards for coding practices, documentation, and testing within the team. Lead by example to foster technical rigor and quality
- Oversee initiatives to optimize the performance and scalability of OEM integrations, meeting the demands of a growing customer base and evolving use cases
- Work closely with architecture, product, and other engineering teams to ensure OEM adapters align with broader platform objectives and deliver exceptional value to customers
- Guide and mentor engineers on the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical growth
- Stay informed about the latest technologies and trends in the automotive and API space. Advocate for the adoption of tools and techniques that enhance the teamβs efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure all OEM adapter solutions meet stringent security and compliance standards, safeguarding customer and partner data
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with automotive OEM data integrations or similar domains
- Expertise in improving developer workflows and API usability
- Experience working in high-growth B2B SaaS companies
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks

- Base salary determined by years of experience: $180,000 - $225,000
