Staff Software Engineer - Full Stack

Summary
Join StackAdapt's Audiences & Pixels team as a Staff Engineer and play a critical role in advising on full-stack technical decisions impacting the entire Audiences & CDP domain. You will unpack ambiguity and complexity, advise and delegate work, communicate complex technical details, and advise the team on pragmatic technical approaches. Responsibilities include planning scalable web APIs and backend systems, collaborating with stakeholders, advising on technical debt consolidation, mentoring the team, identifying performance issues, and conducting technical interviews. The ideal candidate possesses 6+ years of experience building high-performance web applications and extensive experience with a test-driven approach. Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building highly performant web applications with outstanding UX
- Extensive experience working with a test driven approach to writing code with one or more of our core full-stack (or comparable) technologies
- Experience collaborating closely with Product & Design to design, implement and iterate on high impact end-to-end product experiences
- Experience working with relational databases and key-value stores
- Experience analyzing, benchmarking and optimizing web application performance across the entire stack
- Experience leading large scale modernization efforts to revamp legacy systems from start to finish
- An appetite for unpacking complexity and simplifying it wherever possible
Responsibilities
- Plays a critical role in advising on full-stack technical decisions that will impact the entire Audiences & CDP domain
- Unpacks ambiguity and complexity with ease and is able to advise and delegate work as needed to deliver on greenfield initiatives
- Communicates on complex technical endeavours both verbally and in technical design documents with precision and clarity
- Plays a key role in consistently advising the team on pragmatic technical approaches to problems that encourage engineering excellence and developer happiness
- Can structure coherent and iterative actionable plans towards delivering effective solutions across Audiences & CDP
- Plans ahead by strategically architecting scalable web APIs, component libraries and backend systems that serve the team roadmap goals
- Collaborate with stakeholders and other senior engineers across the organization to identify and solve technical challenges that drive impact across teams
- Advise teams on technical debt consolidation in ways that efficiently service our business needs
- Mentor the team and lead by example to uphold software development best-practices in addition to conducting rigorous code and tech spec reviews
- Identify bottle-necks and general system wide performance issues and offer actionable solutions to address them
- Be a significant individual contributor and key asset in delivering critical projects that ultimately bring value to our customers
- Conduct technical interviews to attract and identify potential high performing candidates
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of our full-stack technologies is highly preferred - React, Typescript, GraphQL, Ruby on Rails and Go
